I

Roots in Wisconsin

My journey toward building something that lasts didn't begin in a boardroom or behind a computer screen. It began on a dairy farm in rural Wisconsin.

Growing up on the farm taught me lessons that have stayed with me for a lifetime. Hard work wasn't something we talked about—it was simply how we lived. Cows didn't care if it was Sunday or Christmas. The work still had to be done. My parents taught me responsibility by living it every day.

My father was a quiet man who believed it was better to build something of your own than spend your life building someone else's dream. He rarely expressed praise with words, but he encouraged my imagination in countless ways—building a baseball backstop for my brother and me, supporting my love for music, and believing in my creative interests long before I believed in them myself.

The Road West

As I grew older, another dream began to take shape.

While painting our old farmhouse one summer, I'd listen to a small transistor radio pulling in stations from Chicago. The music opened a window to a world far beyond the Wisconsin fields. It sparked a curiosity that eventually led me to college, songwriting, and one of the biggest adventures of my life—a bicycle journey from Minneapolis toward California in search of new possibilities.

California didn't just change my address.

It changed my life.

It was there that I met my wife, Christine, the woman who has been my partner through every season that followed. Together we've experienced the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, raised an incredible family, built businesses, overcome setbacks, celebrated victories, and continued believing that every challenge carries the seed of another opportunity.

III

Building, Losing, Rebuilding

Over the decades I've worked in the automobile industry, built distribution businesses, achieved success in network marketing, owned a real estate company, helped develop a health coaching business, and spent years exploring the ever-changing world of online entrepreneurship.

Some ventures flourished.

Others disappeared.

More than once I found myself starting over.

Those experiences taught me something I couldn't have learned any other way:

Success isn’t found in chasing the next opportunity.

It’s found in building a foundation that can withstand change.

IV

The Beginning of Goofproofplan

That realization became the beginning of Goofproofplan.

Today, my passion is helping entrepreneurs, creators, and everyday visionaries simplify the process of building an online business that they truly own. A business rooted in relationships rather than transactions. A community built on trust rather than trends. A business designed to grow, adapt, and endure.

The Songs Return

Along the way, another part of my journey came full circle.

After many years, I returned to songwriting and began bringing to life the songs that had been waiting patiently for their time. Those songs tell the stories of my life, my family, my faith, and the lessons learned along the way. They've reminded me that legacy isn't measured by what we accumulate, but by what we leave behind.

Today my mission is simple.

To encourage people to pursue their dreams with courage, embrace change with confidence, build communities that genuinely serve others, and create something that will continue making a difference long after today’s work is finished.

If there’s one lesson my journey has taught me, it’s this:

Life will change. Markets will change. Technology will change.

But character, faith, meaningful relationships, and a willingness to keep learning will always be worth investing in.

Whether you’re just beginning your entrepreneurial journey or starting over after years of experience, I hope Goofproofplan becomes a place where you find encouragement, practical guidance, and a community that believes in building something that lasts.

Because in the end, I don’t believe we’re simply building businesses. I believe we’re building lives, serving people, and leaving every place we touch a little better than we found it.

Looking back now, I realize that many of the lessons guiding my life today didn’t begin in a boardroom or behind a computer.

They began on a Wisconsin dairy farm, where I learned that meaningful things are built one day at a time, commitments matter, and character is revealed in the work no one else sees.

I didn’t recognize those lessons then.

Today, they’ve become the foundation for everything I build.

Welcome to Goofproofplan.

I’m glad you’re here.
